This murphy bed with built-in desk and floating shelves transforms a compact Austin space into one of the most feature-packed wall systems we have built, finished in crisp Super White and designed to handle sleeping, working, storage, and entertaining all from a single wall. The Queen vertical bed is flanked by open floating shelves and a full cabinet run on the left side that integrates a built-in wine fridge and drawer stack, keeping the kitchen and living functions of the room right at hand. A fold-down desk surface on the right side of the system gives the space a dedicated work area that disappears when not needed, and a rolling library ladder mounted to the upper cabinet run adds both practical access to high storage and an undeniable design moment. Installed in December 2024, this build is a strong example of what a fully custom Murphy bed wall system can accomplish in a studio or guest room where every square foot has to earn its place.
